DBR & The Mission: SQ Unit

Join on Friday, February 8th at 7pm us for a Free preview performance by Daniel Bernard Roumain and the Mission: SQ Unit, a string quartet that seamlessly blends funk, rock, hip-hop and classical music into a new, personal sonic vision. Serving as a classical-urban ambassador for a widening global audience, Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) unites his classical music roots with a multicolored spectrum of contemporary black popular music. DBR is a composer, violinist, and bandleader who seamlessly blends funk, rock, hip-hop and classical music into a new, personal sonic vision.

The SQ UNIT, a string quartet that also performs as part of DBR’s band – THE MISSION, will perform a range of works, including pieces written by DBR. In addition, DBR will discuss the influence of the visual artist on a composer and how he incorporates their work into his pieces.
